Currently on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach from TSG Hoffenheim, Haris Tabaković has opened up about the possibility of staying at Borussia-Park beyond this season.

“I feel very, very comfortable here at the club and in the city of Gladbach,” Tabaković told Bild, hinting that he would like to stay.

However, with the 31-year-old striker's loan deal not including an option to buy, he made it clear that the decision isn’t solely his.

“This is a decision that will have to be made later in the future,” he said.

Gladbach’s head of sport, Rouven Schröder, praised the striker’s mentality.

“When Haris joined us in the summer, not everyone was thrilled about the signing at first. Many asked themselves: What do they want with him? After all, things didn’t really work out for him at Hoffenheim,” Schröder said.

“He is an incredible team player, a hard worker. He is often underestimated because, due to his size, he doesn’t look as technically refined. But he gives us stability, even defensively. And he was one of the first to speak up in our quiet squad and inspire the other players – now he is being rewarded for that with goals.”

Tabaković scored his seventh goal for Gladbach in Saturday’s 3-1 derby win over 1. FC Köln.
