Jakub Zieliński is officially the newest member of VfL Wolfsburg, the club announced on Tuesday in a press release. He arrives from Polish club Legia Warszawa, signed to Die Wölfe on a three-year contract that ends in the summer of 2028.

The 17-year-old goalkeeper from Gdańsk, Poland, recently played for the Polish under-17 national team, had experience in the UEFA Youth League with Legia's under-19 team, kept four clean sheets in seventeen appearances for Legia Warszawa's reserve team, and trained with the main team. Polish media reports that the transfer fee to acquire Zieliński was in the range of €900,000, with a conditional €400,000 bonus included.

Kicker reports that Zieliński will be the fourth-string goalkeeper for the main team, but will primarily be in the under-19 team in 2025/26 under head coach, and former Wolfsburg interim coach, Daniel Bauer.

This is after Niklas Klinger and Philipp Schulze left the team in the summer transfer window, leaving Pavao Pervan, Marius Müller, and, another Pole, Kamil Grabara as the other three goalkeepers at the Volkswagen Arena next season.
