Over the summer, Jonathan Tah left Bayer Leverkusen after 10 years to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.

Since then, he has watched his former club make a disappointing start to the season, which led to the sacking of Erik ten Hag after just two league games in charge.

Reflecting on ten Hag’s dismissal and the general situation at Leverkusen, Tah told Sky Germany:

“It surprised me, just like everyone else."

“I hope things settle down there. There’s been a lot of change and unrest recently,” Tah added.

"I think Leverkusen have a good team, and they’ve also brought in players with top qualities. So I’ll be happy for them if they can fully focus on football again.”
