FC Köln are pushing to sign Rav van den Berg and have submitted a big offer worth up to €7million to Middlesbrough.

According to Sky Germany's sources, van den Berg is Effzeh’s top target to strengthen their defensive third.

The Netherlands centre-half is supposedly open to the idea of a move to the newly promoted Bundesliga sude.

Köln see potential in the brother of former Schalke defender Sepp – both as a prospect and immediate reinforcement.

However, Feyenoord and Crystal Palace are also very interested, and other Bundesliga clubs are monitoring the situation closely.

Last season, van den Berg made a total of 27 appearances in the EFL Championship as Middlesbrough finished tenth.
