With Jürgen Klopp expected to become Germany’s new head coach, Red Bull are looking for someone to replace the 59-year-old as their Head of Global Soccer.

According to Sport Bild, the favourite to take over the role is Eintracht Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche.

With his excellent network, eye for talent and transfer expertise, Krösche fits the profile Red Bull are looking for.

There have been no concrete talks between Red Bull and Krösche so far, but the 45-year-old is no stranger to the organisation, having served as RB Leipzig’s sporting director from 2019 to 2021.

While RB Leipzig and Krösche parted ways due to internal disagreements, his relationship with Red Bull chief Oliver Mintzlaff has long since been restored.

Former New York Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry is reportedly also seen as a potential successor. After coaching spells at Monaco and with French youth national teams, the Arsenal legend is currently an investor in Italian club Como and also works as a pundit.

Former Red Bull Salzburg coach Roger Schmidt is another name being mentioned. The 59-year-old, who has also coached Bayer Leverkusen, PSV Eindhoven and Benfica, is currently working as Global Football Advisor for Japan’s J.League.
