Gladbach updates: Plea ruled out for three weeks, "small chance" for Elvedi
Borussia Mönchengladbach trainer Daniel Farke confirmed on Wednesday that Alassane Plea's abductor issues will sideline him through the coming international break.
With regard to the playing prospects of Nico Elvedi, Farke noted that there was "a small chance" that the Swiss center-half could be fit in time for Sunday.

Farke also revealed that there may be a small chance the defender Nico Elvedi might be able to make it back in time from his sprained ankle. The foals are already facing problems in central defensive, with crucial new addition Ko Itakura suspended after seeing red last Sunday.
Farke only has one other natural central defender to deploy alongside Marvin Friedrich. Veteran Tony Jantschke can serve as the second CB. German 2014 World Cup winner Christoph Kramer - recently utilized as a centralized sweeper by Farke - can also move back into the ranks of central defense, with newcomers Julian Weigl or Nathan Ngoumou taking his place in midfield.
Left-back Ramy Bensebaini has some experience playing in the center. Youngster Luca Netz could take the Algerian's place. Mamadou Doucouré has been called up to senior squad training from BMG II, possibly to see his first top-tier action since the 2019/20 campaign.
