After three years at Holstein Kiel, Marko Ivezić has left the club to join Scottish side Hibernian FC.

The two clubs both confirmed the 24-year-old centre-back's transfer on Wednesday morning.

“Marko Ivezić has helped shape KSV’s journey over the past few years with his exemplary commitment and calm presence,” said Holstein Kiel managing director for sport Olaf Rebbe.

"At the moment, we were unable to offer him the playing time and prospects he is looking for. We therefore respect his wish to take on a new challenge and wish him every success and all the best.”

Ivezić, who made 87 appearances for the Storks, said:

“The past three years in Kiel mean a great deal to me. I am incredibly grateful for all the experiences I shared with the team, the club and the people here in Kiel. It was an incredibly formative and wonderful period in which I was able to experience many great moments and gain valuable experience. That is why saying goodbye is very difficult for me, and I will always remain connected to Holstein Kiel.”
