Marco Rose: 'We reacted well'

Gladbach coach Marco Rose was proud of the reaction his played showed to turn the game around after Mainz went ahead at Borussia-Park today.
Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Marco Rose was happy with the fighting spirit his players showed to beat Mainz 3-1 after 'Die Fohlen' went 0-1 down in the first half of today's game at Borussia-Park.

"I’m very happy with the win. I think we deserved the three points. We put in a decent performance today and were in the game right from the off. Still, we had to stomach a setback first because we had one lapse in concentration," Rose said after the game, as quoted by the club.

"We reacted well though. We continued to play just as we had done before the goal and didn’t allow ourselves to be fazed. We got our equaliser from a set piece and even had a couple more chances to go ahead before the break.

"We had to carry on being vigilant though; Mainz have dangerous counterattacking players, who drive forward with pace and power. We counterpressed effectively and finally got ahead from another set-piece goal and then we wrapped it up at the end," the Gladbach coach said.
