Asked where he sees himself in three or four years, Diaby told L'Equipe:
"At a big club. But this will happen step by step. I'll do everything in my power to get there, but I know that it requires hard work."
The 20-year-old felt he had to leave Paris Saint-Germain to find regular first-team football last summer, but says he might return to his boyhood club at some point in the future.
"I don't regret my decision. I wanted to leave to get more playing time, to be able to express myself and become a great player," Diaby said and added:
"Coming back as a seasoned player is always in the back of my mind. I say to myself, 'Why not?'"
In his first season at BayArena, Diaby has scored five goals and made eight assists in 29 games.
