RB Leipzig striker Alexander Sørloth is set to be on his way out of the Red Bull Arena, with Premier League side Southampton showing an interest.

According to The Athletic, the Saints are targetting the Norwegian striker as a replacement for Danny Ings who sealed a move to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa.

Sørloth joined RB Leipzig from Crystal Palace for €20m in September 2020 but has failed to kick on as Die Roten Bullen's lead man.

The 25-year-old went on loan to Turkish side Trabzonspor for the 2019/20 season and was immense. Sørloth broke the club record for most goals in a single season by a foreign player, scoring 33 times for the club in all competitions.

Sørloth could not replicate that form in Germany however, only scoring 6 times in all competitions as he was tasked with replacing Timo Werner's output from 2019/20.

Leipzig are looking to ship off the Norwegian as soon as possible following an underwhelming debut season, and Trabzonspor are one of the clubs interested as well as Southampton.

No price tag has been mentioned in the report, but one would assume Leipzig would be asking for near the €20m-mark that they paid for the Norwegian forward.
