The Italian journalist said tonight via Twitter that a permanent deal for Ekkelenkamp to go to the German capital had been agreed tonight, with Romano adding that the young Dutchman will be contracted to Hertha until June 2025.

Earlier today when announcing the completed transfer of Oliver Christensen, Hertha sporting director Arne Friedrich said that no agreement had been made between themselves and Ajax over a transfer.

Now with the news broken by the Italian journalist, Hertha's pursuit of Ekkelenkamp ends today with the 21-year-old signing a 4-year deal.
