Ramon Hendriks and his representatives have put contract talks with VfB Stuttgart on hold for the time being, according to Sky Germany.
The report claims that Hendriks has received a contract extension offer from the club, but his camp has stepped away from negotiations for now as it didn't meet his expectations.
A contract renewal beyond 2028 is only considered possible if Stuttgart significantly improve their offer financially.
Despite the current standstill, Stuttgart are understood to be firmly planning with the centre-back and are not looking to sell him this summer.
However, an offer in the region of €50 million could persuade the Bundesliga club to consider a transfer.
Hendriks was linked with a move to Nottingham Forest by Sky Germany earlier this year.
The 24-year-old Dutchman has developed into an important player at the heart of Stuttgart’s defence following his move from Feyenoord in 2024.
A natural centre-back, Hendriks is also capable of operating on the left side of defence.
