Alexander Nübel is currently spending his third consecutive season on loan at VfB Stuttgart from Bayern Munich.

With his Bayern contract running until 2029, the goalkeeper's long-term future beyond this season remains uncertain.

At his parent club, Jonas Urbig has been positioned as the primary backup to veteran first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

“We haven’t had any talks yet about what will happen next. There’s still some time,” Nübel told RTL/ntv and sport.de.

“For now I’m still on loan, and everything else will be decided in the spring.”

The 29-year-old goalkeeper added that he is “super happy” at Stuttgart.

“Everything is going really, really well. I’m very happy off the pitch too, and that’s the most important thing for me.”
