German 2. Bundesliga side 1. FC Nürnberg have announced that Stefanos Tzimas will join Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of the season.

Nürnberg exercised their option to buy the 19-year-old from PAOK FC before agreeing a fee with Brighton.

According to reports, the option to buy was worth €18 million and the fee agreed with Brighton is €26 million, meaning that Nürnberg will receive €8 million from the sale.

“It's something special for 1. FC Nürnberg to make an international transfer, especially in this category. As a club, we are proud of those involved in making this happen,” said FC Nürnberg's head of sport, Joti Chatzialexiou.

“I know Brighton's head coach Fabian Hürzeler and assistant coach Daniel Niedzkowski from my time with the DFB and I am convinced that he will be in good hands with them. It's a great next step for Stefanos and we wish him all the best for the summer.”

Tzimas, 19, has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 17 games for Nürnberg this season.
