FC Augsburg have officially confirmed that striker Samuel Essende has joined Young Boys Bern with immediate effect.

Sky Germany revealed the €4.75million deal was close to completion earlier this afternoon, but Augsburg's statement said the exact transfer fee will remain undisclosed.

The 28-year-old striker joined FCA from FC Vizela in June 2024. Since then, he made a total of 50 competitive appearances for the Bavarian side, scoring twelve goals.

“Samuel approached us with the desire for a new sporting opportunity. Together, we looked for a solution that made sense for both sides, and we found it with the move to Switzerland.

"We thank Samuel for his commitment and wish him every success in his future endeavors,” said Augsburg's sporting director Benni Weber.

“I gave my best for Augsburg. From a sporting perspective, I needed to find a new project where I could develop further, enjoy my time on the pitch, and score goals.

"My thanks go to the FCA fans, who have always been fantastic to me. I wish the club all the best for the rest of the season,” said Samuel Essende.
