Albanian goalkeeper Simon Simoni left Eintracht Frankfurt to join FC Luzern ahead of the upcoming season. The Eagles confirmed they agreed with the Swiss club for a permanent transfer after he completed a successful trial training session.
The Albanian international rarely played during his loan stints at Ingolstadt and Kaiserslautern. He only featured six times in the 2. Bundesliga in 18 months. However, he made his debut for Albania as a substitute in a 1-0 victory over Gibraltar in September 2025.
Simoni contributed to the promotion to Regionalliga Südwest by Eintracht Frankfurt U21. Newly-promoted FC Thun won the Swiss Super League last term as FC Luzern finished top of the relegation group after the end of the regular season.
