FC St. Pauli defender David Nemeth has missed the start of the Bundesliga season due to adductor problems - and he will remain sidelined for the foreseeable future.
The Bundesliga club confirmed on Thursday that Nemeth underwent surgery on Wednesday to improve the long-term stability of his tendon.
According to Kicker, Nemeth, who established himself as a regular starter last season, will now be out for several months.
With Nemeth sidelined, Hauke Wahl, Eric Smith, and Adam Dzwigala have been forming a back three for St. Pauli in recent games.
