With João Palhinha likely to leave Bayern Munich this summer, two new suitors have emerged.
According to the Bild podcast ‘Bayern Insider’, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion have shown interest in the defensive midfielder.
Previously, Fulham, West Ham, and Manchester United have also been linked with Palhinha.
The 29-year-old hinted at a possible summer move after a challenging debut season at Bayern.
"I want to play for this club. But I need to talk with the coach and the sporting management to see if I’ll be getting my chances here. I really hope so, but if not, we’ll have to see and find the best solution,” he said at the beginning of June.
His limited involvement at the Club World Cup – featuring in just one of Bayern’s five games in the United States – doesn’t make a summer move seem any less likely.
