Borussia Dortmund are reportedly making progress in their bid to extend Nico Schlotterbeck’s contract.

According to Sky Germany, Schlotterbeck is increasingly leaning towards extending his deal beyond 2027 after a new round of negotiations took place on Monday involving sporting managing director Lars Ricken, sporting director Sebastian Kehl and the defender’s agent, Björn Etzel.

The meeting reportedly went “positive and harmonious direction," and the club received “positive signals” from the player’s side.

However, a final breakthrough has not yet been reached, with negotiations still ongoing.

Schlotterbeck, 26, joined the Black and Yellows from Freiburg in the summer of 2022.
