Much has been discussed regarding Nico Schlotterbeck's future at Borussia Dortmund, and it appears the player is keeping his cards close to his chest at the minute.
“The appreciation on both sides [mine and the club's] is very high. But it won’t be so early that I extend my contract," he said, during BVB's press conference for their game against Bilbao.
"We’ll have talks now. I’ll sit down with Sebastian Kehl, together we'll make a plan, and then we’ll see what comes of it.
“I feel comfortable [at Dortmund], but we put the talks on hold during the injury because I wanted to focus on myself first,” he added.
BVB sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, recently offered insight into the negotiations in an interview on ZDF’s Aktuelles Sportstudio and emphasized their desire to keep Schlotterbeck.
The 25-year-old German international, currently valued at €40million by Transfermarkt.com, is under contract with the Westphalian giants until June 2027.
