Borussia Dortmund are closing in on another major addition to their midfield. BVB have reached an agreement to sign PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joey Veerman, with the Dutchman set to join the Bundesliga club after Dortmund triggered his release clause.

The transfer is reportedly worth around €22-25 million, with Veerman agreeing to a five-year contract at Signal Iduna Park. The remaining steps are now largely administrative, with the midfielder scheduled to undergo his medical on Monday before putting pen to paper on his new deal.

The move marks a rapid development in Dortmund’s pursuit of Veerman. The 27-year-old had emerged as one of BVB’s main midfield targets in recent days, with reports in the Netherlands describing Dortmund’s interest as increasingly serious. Veerman himself had openly welcomed the possibility of a move to Germany, describing Dortmund as a “great option” and joking that the club would need to hurry if they wanted to sign him.

That urgency was linked to a release clause in Veerman’s PSV contract. The clause was reportedly worth around €20 million and was due to expire in the coming days, giving Dortmund a narrow window in which to complete the deal on those terms.
