FC Barcelona are planning to step up their efforts to sign Angelo Stiller from VfB Stuttgart, according to Sport Bild.

The Catalan giants were interested in the 23-year-old central midfielder last summer, but he ultimately stayed put.

Their interest remains, however, with Stiller seen as a great fit for Hansi Flick's possession-based style of football.

However, with Stuttgart unlikely to accept an offer of less than €50 million for Stiller, the question is whether Barcelona can afford him.

Stiller came through the youth ranks at Bayern Munich - FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick's former employers - before moving to Hoffenheim in 2021. Stuttgart signed him for a reported €5.5 million in the summer of 2023.

Since then, things have moved quickly for Stiller, who made his international debut in September. He made his first start for Germany in Monday's 1-0 win over the Netherlands.
