Stade Rennes have had a bid for Anthony Rouault rejected by VfB Stuttgart, according to Sky Germany.

The report claims that the Ligue 1 side want to sign the centre-back on a permanent basis, but Stuttgart are keen to keep hold of him.

Rouault himself is "open" to the idea of a move to Rennes, with his chances of playing regularly for Stuttgart the deciding factor for him.

Currently, Rouault, Amin Al-Dakhil and Jeff Chabot are competing for two starting places at the heart of the defence.

Rouault has featured 27 times for Stuttgart this season, scoring once.

He joined Stuttgart from Toulouse in 2023 on an initial loan deal, which was later made permanent.
