Carney Chukwuemeka has chosen to represent Austria at senior level, opting against England or Nigeria.

FIFA’s official Change of Association Platform shows that the 22-year-old Vienna-born midfielder has switched his allegiance from England, who he represented at youth level, to Austria.

Chukwuemeka could make his debut for Austria as early as this month and now has a strong chance of being included in the squad for this summer’s World Cup.

Joining him is PSV youngster Paul Wanner. The 20-year-old recently announced he would play for Austria rather than Germany, with his switch also officially approved by FIFA.
