Ihlas Bebou explains decision to join Hoffenheim over Gladbach

Ihlas Bebou has revealed why he wanted to come to Hoffenheim instead of Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Ihlas Bebou has explained why he turned down an offer from Borussia Mönchengladbach to join Hoffenheim from Hannover 96.

The 25-year-old had attracted interest from both clubs and ultimately opted for a move to Hoffenheim this summer.

"In the end, the responsible at Hoffenheim managed to convince me more," Bebou told Sport Bild and went on to reveal that Hoffenheim coach Alfred Schreuder played a key role in his decision:

"We talked for a long time. He explained to me how he wanted to use my strengths, and he told me that he believes a lot in my speed, also when dribbling, and that it's something I can use to mess with defenders. I was fully convinced by him and the club," Bebou said.

Hoffenheim paid €8,5 million to sign Bebou from Hannover 96.
