Karlsruhe entertain Arminia Bielefeld in the opening matchday of 2026/27 2. Bundesliga. There were only five points between the two clubs at the end of last season as they both finished in the lower half of the standings.

Bielefeld stunned Fortuna Düsseldorf when they marked their return to 2. Bundesliga with a sensational 5-1 victory in the opening matchday of last season. Karlsruhe also started with three points last time out with a 3-2 win over SC Preußen Münster.

There were also goals aplenty when these two teams met in head-to-head fixtures last season. Bielefeld won the first game 4-0 before squandering their lead in a 4-1 defeat at BBBank Wildpark in April. Both teams will start the season with new coaches as Maximilian Senft and Oliver Kirch are preparing for their managerial debuts at this level.

Tunisian youngster Louey Ben Farhat is also a doubt for Karlsruhe after missing friendly games against Inter and Hoffenheim. Leon Schneider will not be in Bielefeld’s traveling squad with a muscle injury.
