As reported by the Augsburger Allgemeine, FC Bayern Munich have inquired about FC Augsburg defender Chrislain Matsima.

The 24-year-old has been under contract with Augsburg since 2024 and has developed strongly in his first Bundesliga season.

Augsburg signed the Frenchman from AS Monaco for around €5million, significantly increased his market value with his efforts.

According to the report, several clubs are monitoring the central defender, but there are currently no concrete negotiations or talks.

Whether Bayern Munich's interest will develop further will likely depend primarily on the developments surrounding Min-jae Kim.

Currently, there is no immediate need for reinforcements in Munich's defense with Kim reportedly set to stay in Bavaria after all.

However, should the personnel situation change, Matsima could become a serious candidate for the German record champions.
