Nigerian striker Victor Boniface was very close to leaving Bayer Leverkusen last January. Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr agreed terms with both the player and Leverkusen before turning their attention to Jhon Duran.

However, there will be no transfer drama involving the 24-year-old this time around. Boniface confirms his stay in an interview with Bild’s Phillip Arens. His contract at Die Werkself will run until 2028.

“Absolutely! My future is here. From my side, it’s 100% clear that I’m staying,” said Boniface when asked about his future at the club. Boniface scored 8 goals in 19 Bundesliga appearances in an injury-hit season last term.
