At his first press conference as Bayer Leverkusen coach on Wednesday, Kasper Hjulmand was asked about the possibility of signing Christian Eriksen on a free transfer.
Eriksen is a free agent after leaving Manchester United, and Hjulmand was questioned about the 33-year-old attacking midfielder, whom he previously coached with the Danish national team.
“I don't talk about players like that. I talk with Simon [Rolfes, Bayer Leverkusen's sporting managing director] about something like that,” Hjulmand said, before adding:
“Christian is a fantastic player and an even better person. But we have a fantastic team here and great players.”
Eriksen has played 144 games for Denmark, scoring 46 goals and providing 34 assists.
