Borussia Mönchengladbach have loaned striker Tomáš Čvančara to Celtic for the remainder of the season. The deal includes an option for the Scottish club to make the move permanent.

After spending the first half of the season on loan at Antalyaspor, Čvančara’s spell in Turkey was cut short, and he is now heading to Scotland.

“We’re pleased that, following the early termination of his loan at Antalyaspor, we were able to quickly find a very good and attractive solution for all parties involved,” said Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder.

Speaking to Celtic’s website, Čvančara said:

“It’s a massive honour to sign for this club. We have lots of challenges ahead of us and I am ready to get going and do everything I can to meet these and bring success to our brilliant supporters.

“Celtic is one of the great names in world football and I am delighted to be here to play my part.”

Čvančara remains contracted to Borussia Mönchengladbach until 2028.
