An early own-goal decided the pre-season encounter between RB Leipzig and Ingolstadt. The game was played in two 60-minute intervals, but there was no breakthrough after the captain of the 3. Liga side Marc Lorenz beat his own goalkeeper from Brajan Gruda’s delivery in the fourth minute.

Maxime Estève makes his first appearance for the club, while fellow new signing Rocco Reitz remains out due to fitness issues. Meanwhile, Péter Gulácsi was the only unused substitute in Leipzig’s second test game as he is expected to join Villarreal.

Assan Ouédraogo played after his return from the World Cup, while the club expect the rest of the first-team players to join training on Monday, apart from Antonio Nusa, who reached the quarter-final with Norway.

That means Yan Diomande will also report to the club on Monday to join the preparations for the new season. Martin Demichelis was asked about the sought-after Ivorian after today’s game as he opened the door for the mega transfer.

“He (Diomande) is still an RB Leipzig player. But, in football, anything can happen.” said the Argentine in a flash interview with Sky Sports.
