Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Soumaïla Coulibaly’s loan at Stade Brest, which was originally set to run until the end of the month, has been cut short.
As a result, the 21-year-old centre-back has returned to Dortmund, where he will continue his rehabilitation, having been sidelined with adductor problems since March.
It remains unclear whether Coulibaly will be fit in time to make Dortmund’s squad for the upcoming Club World Cup.
With Nico Schlotterbeck out long term, the Frenchman could provide valuable depth in central defence.
Coulibaly made 16 appearances for Brest during the 2024/25 season.
