Max Eberl is keen to see Bayern Munich round off their season with a DFB-Pokal final victory over VfB Stuttgart on Saturday evening.

“We started the season with the Supercup win against VfB – now we want to bring things full circle with a successful cup win against VfB," Bayern's director of sport told Abendzeitung.

“The anticipation was already palpable after the semi-final against Leverkusen. You can feel how the players, the fans, the whole club are longing for this final after a six-year absence.

"Now, of course, we want to make the game a success and bring the cup back to Munich. After the women's team already achieved the double, we now want to follow suit," he added.

The German record champions' last victory in the cup came in 2020 with a 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen – it was also the last time they achieved a domestic double.
