Alemannia Aachen signed free agent Nathan Bitumazala for their 3. Liga campaign. The former PSG youngster signed a two-year contract, with an option to extend for a third year.

The 23-year-old spent the last four years at KAS Eupen, but his contract wasn’t renewed after the end of last season. The club owned by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) currently compete in the second division of Belgium.

The attacking midfielder joined PSG in 2015, and made an appearance for the first-team in a 4-0 Ligue 1 win over Clermont in 2021. At the Belgian club, he played a season under the current Aachen coach Mersad Selimbegovic.

“We are happy to welcome Nathan (Bitumazala) to Tivoli (Aachen’s stadium). He has enjoyed an excellent education in the youth of PSG and has successfully made the leap in Belgium in recent years. With him, we’ll have a fast and creative offensive player who can play both on the wing and in the centre," explained Aachen’s managing director Rachid Azzouzi.

“I am very pleased to be an Alemannia Aachen player. It is particularly nice for me that I can work with my former coach Mersad Selimbegovic again. In the past few years, in which I have lived in Eupen, I have witnessed the euphoria of Alemannia in the entire region.” said the player.

Selimbegovic also added his bit on the transfer. “Nathan (Bitumazala) is a player who will do our game very well. He is not only fast, but also has an excellent technique with which he can prevail against his opponents.”

Aachen will start their campaign at home against relegated Verl on Sunday.
