Köln's Heintz nears Düsseldorf switch, Kaiserslautern snap up Stuttgart gem

Düsseldorf are recruiting some experience into their ranks for the third tier, while Lautern have snapped up a talented Croatian youth talent.

Heintz nears F95 move:

According to a report from Sky Germany, Dominique Heintz is close to joining Fortuna Düsseldorf on a free transfer.

Heintz is set to join from topflight rivals 1. FC Köln after his contract was not extended and ultimately allowed to expire.

It's believed that only final details remain to be sorted out, with the signing a clear goal of gaining promotion back to 2. Bundesliga.

In his final Bundesliga campaign with the Billygoats last season, Heintz made a total of nine appearances.

Kaiserslautern snap up VfB talent:

Second division side 1.FC Kaiserslautern have reached an agreement with VfB Stuttgart over a transfer for Ivan Knesevic.

The 19-year-old prodigy has already completed his medical at the Rhineland Palatinate club who believe he has great potential.

A centre-half by trade, he featured 26 times for Stuttgart's U-19 team last season, providing a goal and an assists. 

Sky Germany includes that the Croatian U-19 international is expected to sign a contract that will last until the summer of 2029.
