Following the end of the 2025-26 season, 1.FC Köln has exercised their option to buy Jakub Kaminski, who had previously been on loan from VfL Wolfsburg.

Featuring in all 36 competitive matches whilst providing 7 goals and providing 5 assists, the Polish attacker underlined his importance for Effzeh in his first campaign.

“Kuba impressed us with his personality right from our initial discussions. He is down-to-earth, ambitious, and a true team player,” said managing director Thomas Kessler

"Last season, he demonstrated these qualities every day, both on and off the pitch. Therefore, it quickly became clear to us that we wanted to exercise our purchase option.

"His development and performances are also a prime example of why 1. FC Köln is an excellent destination for ambitious players to develop at a high level and take the next step in their careers.”

Despite his young age, the 23-year-old Pole already boasts considerable experience. He made his debut for Lech Poznan at 17 and first played for Poland aged 19.

His first World Cup appearance followed in 2022, along with a move to VfL Wolfsburg – Kaminski has since amassed 104 Bundesliga appearances.
