RB Leipzig confirmed Assan Ouédraogo will be out for a few weeks due to a shoulder injury. The 20-year-old has only played 19 Bundesliga games last term because of several injury setbacks holding him back.

However, he was selected as Lennart Karl’s replacement for the World Cup by Julian Nagelsmann after the FC Bayern youngster suffered an injury in one of the final training sessions before the tournament.

Ouédraogo didn’t feature in North America, but played in Leipzig’s recent friendly wins over Ingolstadt and Verl. RB Leipzig now confirmed he sustained a capsular injury during training, and it was decided that he’ll need to be sidelined for weeks.

Leipzig will face Premier League side Leeds United later today. They will then play another friendly against FC Bayern at Allianz Arena before their opening game of the season in the DFB-Pokal.
