According to BILD, Jonas Hofmann and Robert Andrich could also be sold at Bayer Leverkusen this summer as part of a rebuilding process.

Managing director Simon Rolfes is reportedly dissatisfied with the club's recent performances and is pushing ahead with restructuring.

Now, the club are said to be looking for a new defensive leader who can raise the team's level and bring leadership qualities.

Andrich, who moved from defensive midfield to the center of defense during the season, failed to meet these requirements.

The 31-year-old could leave the club, despite having a contract which runs until 2028, if he doesn't have a prospect of regular playing time.

Hofmann will likely face no obstacles to his departure and was already close to joining 1.FC Union Berlin during last summer's transfer window.

While the attacking midfielder briefly fought his way back into the starting lineup towards the end of the first half of the season, he has since fallen out of favor again.

With his last start almost a month ago, a farewell from the Rhineland side this summer seems highly probable.

Leverkusen also wants to make room for young talents like Kerim Alajbegovic, Francis Onyeka, Tim Oermann, Jeanuël Belocian, Axel Tape and Montrell Culbreath.
