The Swiss national team have been dealt a significant injury blow ahead of their World Cup round of 16 clash with Colombia on Tuesday.

According to Blick, Johan Manzambi suffered a knee injury during the very final session of pre-match training without any contact from a teammate.

As a result, the SC Freiburg midfielder will “definitely” miss the game, the Swiss outlet reports.

Meanwhile, Rubén Vargas and Djibril Sow are doubtful after both players were forced to end the session early due to injuries.

Manzambi has been one of Switzerland’s standout performers at the World Cup so far, scoring three goals and providing two assists in four appearances.
