Marmoush on decision to remain in Frankfurt: "A big family, indescribable feelings."
Both player and coach agreed that a departure this offseason was never really much of an issue. The 25-year-old feels comfortable in the RheinMain metropolis. His stats thus far in the young campaign certainly bear that out.

Inconsistent and uninspiring tactics during his first season in charge of Eintracht Frankfurt left many German football pundits predicting that rookie trainer Dino Toppmöller would not be invited back for a sophomore campaign in the RheinMain metropolis. The former Julian Nagelsmann assistant was himself reportedly considering taking a job outside of German football during the offseason.
Departure rumors also followed the 2023/24 squad's leading goal-scorer right up until near the end of the transfer deadline. In the end, Egyptian goal-scorer Omar Marmoush opted to reject interest from outside parties and remain in the German commercial capital. Marmoush scored again in Saturday evening's 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Marmoush has scored in Eintracht's last three league fixtures; all of them wins.
The 25-year-old did reasonably well in Frankfurt last year, scoring 17 goals and collecting nine assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. It stands to reason that this year will be even better for the former Wolfsburg, St. Pauli, and VfB Stuttgart professional. Thanks in part to the presence of a fit-and-ready Hugo Ekitiké, Marmoush has already registered four tallies and registered three assists in five league/cup appearances.
Ekitiké and Marmoush combined splendidly on the decisive 2-0 against Gladbach on Saturday night. After themselves sputtering against Dortmund on opening day, Frankfurt have dismantled subsequent league opponents Hoffenheim, Wolfsburg, and now Gladbach in convincing fashion. Prospects for the Europa League (beginning this week) appear bright. Toppmöller reserved special praise for Ekitiké and Marmoush on Saturday night.
"The goal to make it 2-0 was superbly played out [by Ekitiké] and the way Omar finished was world class,” Toppmöller told the Sky mics, adding when it came time to comment on the outgoing transfer links associated with Marmoush this summer, "It was foreseeable for other clubs to be interested in him. but we were in constant contact and I had good conversations with Omar."
"It was clear to him that he likes to stay in Frankfurt and feels very comfortable here," Toppmöller continued, "When you see how he's getting on at the start of the season, how he's doing, how he's getting stuck-in and how he's inspiring the crowd time and again with his goals and assists – it's very clear that he feels at home here.”
“We are like one big family," the player himself added, "We always have good conversations and I feel very comfortable here. Of course, there are always topics of interest from other clubs. But the feeling I had here with the team, the coach, and the staff is indescribable. That's what inspired me to stay here.”
