Agustin Rogel officially singed his new working papers with Germany's Charlottenburg capital city side on Tuesday evening. Confirmation of the Uruguayan's transfer to Hertha took a little longer than expected, presumably due to transfer fee negotiations between the Bundesliga outfit and Estudiantes de La Plata.

Hertha were able to acquire the 24-year-old - whose contract with the Argentine club would have expired in December - for a paltry fee of €700,000. Rogel's new contract with "die alte Dame" und through 2026. For Rogel, this will be his third foray into European football. The center back previously played with PFC Krylia Sovetov Samara in the Russian Premiership and FC Toulouse in Ligue 1.

"Agustín has a lot of presence on the field with his height and style of play," sporting CEO Fredi Bobic noted at the unveiling, "he convinces with strength in direct duels, commitment. and a great mentality that can lift his teammates up. We are thus very pleased that he has decided to take the next step with us."

Having filled their glaring need in central defense, one assumes that Hertha are finished with their incoming transfers this window. It has been reported by reliable sources that Bobic and the front office will not be seeking an additional keeper to back up Oliver Christensen.
