Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed that Jeremiah Mensah has signed his first professional contract.

The highly rated 18-year-old attacking midfielder has put pen to paper on a long-term deal running until 2031.

“Jeremiah has shown his qualities in our youth teams many times and has developed really well over the years. We back Jeremiah to establish himself with the first team in the long term and be able to make his mark there,” said Bayer Leverkusen sporting managing director Simon Rolfes.

Mensah, a Germany U19 international, added:

“Getting to sign a long-term professional contract at this super club makes me so proud. I’ll try to remain alert, learn from the many top players and keep improving."

Mensah has made one appearance in the Champions League and one in the DFB-Pokal for Leverkusen this season, but is still waiting for his Bundesliga debut.
