Leverkusen boss rules out summer exit for Havertz

Kai Havertz has been linked with clubs such as Bayern München, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. But Leverkusen boss Rudi Völler says he'll definitely stay beyond the summer.
Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz has attracted interest from the likes of Bayern München, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona with his impressive performances.

However, 'Die Werkself' have no plans of selling the 19-year-old and want to keep him beyond the summer, says Leverkusen director of sport Rudi Völler.

"Havertz will definitely stay at Leverkusen this summer," Völler said in an interview with Sky and added:

"It's clear that Havertz will have other ambitions at some point, but that's not the case yet."

"We're calm, because we're in a very good position. His contact runs until 2022, there's no exit clause, and he feels well here in Leverkusen. He grew up with us and played here as a youngster," Völler said.

Havertz has made 25 appearances for Leverkusen this season with 10 goals and six assists to his name.
