Report: Lucas Hernandez will join Bayern in the summer
Lucas Hernandez's transfer to Bayern München is said to be a done deal! The defender is set to join the Bavarians from Atlético Madrid in the summer.
Bayern München will sign Atlético Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez this summer, Sport Bild understands.
To finalize the deal, Bayern resorted to Italian agent Giovanni Branchini who has previously helped the Bavarians to bring in Pep Guardiola and Luca Toni among others.
The German champions wanted to take advantage of a €80 million exit clause in Hernandez's contract to sign him in January, but ultimately wasn't able to land the French international during the winter transfer window.
Hernandez has said that Atlético were reluctant to keep him for the rest of the season, and he agreed to stay and talk the offer through.
Asked about the Hernandez deal, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told Sport Bild:
"We have good discussions, and more are coming."
The 23-year-old, who can play both as a left-back and in the central defence, has made 110 appearances for Atlético Madrid in total, scoring once and making four assists.
