Bayern München wore their opponents down in Sunday's 4-0 victory over Hertha BSC, Thomas Müller said after the game.

Müller broke the deadlock after an hour before Robert Lewandowski, Thiago Alcantara and Ivan Perisic added to the lead to secure Bayern a crushing win in the German capital.

"We wore them down. The gaps grew a bit in the second half. I think we were too patient in the first half. It didn't feel wrong but we weren't really dangerous. We let Hertha play but closed down the space where it mattered. We set out to up the tempo in the second half," Müller said after the game, as quoted by the club.

Sunday's win saw Bayern climb to second place, four points behind RB Leipzig.
