FC Köln will have to decide whether they want to sell Jhon Cordoba or extend his contract to avoid losing the striker for free when his deal runs out in 2021.
As Kicker reports, the situation isn't exactly ideal from Köln's perspective as they don't really have the reins in their hands.
Cordoba has been in great form since Markus Gisdol took over as Köln coach in November and has scored a total of 11 goals in 23 games this season.
But although the 26-year-old has surely attracted interest from other clubs with his great performances this season, Köln would probably not be able to get as much for him as they would prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
Therefore, the Bundesliga side will probably be leaning towards extending the striker's contract, which could be costly as Cordoba will be in a good position to negotiate a significant pay rise.
FC Köln paid €17 million to sign Cordoba from Mainz in 2017.
