Ralf Rangnick has been appointed head of sports and development of Russian side FC Lokomotiv Moscow.

The former RB Leipzig coach and sporting director has put pen to paper on a three-year deal, the Russian capital club said on Tuesday.

In recent months, Rangnick has been touted for a return to club management, with Schalke 04 and AC Milan among the clubs he has been linked with.

However, after revealing in an interview with Süddeutsche Zeitung on Tuesday that he has founded his own consulting company, the 63-year-old has now agreed to work for FC Lokomotiv Moscow.
