Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Julien Duranville has joined reigning Swiss champions FC Basel 1893 with immediate effect.

The Westphalian giants eventually managed to agree to a loan deal which will last until the end of the 2025-26 season.

The 19-year-old – who has played for BVB since January 2023 – will now get a chance to fulfill his development with more game time.

Sky Germany reported that the deal is fixed at six months and there is no purchase option available to Basel.

“Julien has been with us in Dortmund for three years now, but he’s still a very young player in whom we continue to see great potential.

"Due to injuries, among other things, he hasn’t been able to showcase his talent and abilities to the extent we would have liked recently.

"The move to FC Basel now gives him the opportunity to gain regular playing time and further develop.

“We are convinced that this step is the right one for his future prospects here at BVB. We wish him every success in Basel,” said BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
