Why Guirassy's move to Dortmund isn't complete yet

Sky Germany reports that Serhou Guirassy's move to Borussia Dortmund isn't a done deal yet, as financial details still need to be clarified.

It seems only a matter of time before Serhou Guirassy's move to Borussia Dortmund is completed. At the moment, however, it's not a done deal.

According to Sky Germany, Dortmund have yet to activate the release clause in Guirassy's contract, which is set at around €18 million.

A medical has also not yet been scheduled, with financial details still to be clarified, the report said.

However, all parties remain confident that the deal will be done and that the striker will eventually become a Dortmund player.

Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth told journalists on Thursday that Guirassy and captain WAldemar Anton have informed the club that they wish to leave.

Like Guirassy, Anton is expected to join Dortmund. Hiroki Ito has already left Stuttgart for Bayern, and head coach Sebastian Hoeness is frustrated at losing so many key players.

"I'm only human. Of course I wasn't happy. I was angry that it turned out this way. I want to have a good team and be competitive," Hoeness told Bild.

However, he also stressed that it was "to be expected" that Stuttgart wouldn't be able to keep the whole team together after their sensational second-place finish in the Bundesliga last season.

“We were runners-up and played good football. The departures are understandable and justifiable to a certain extent.”
