According to Fabrizio Romano, reports have emerged that Hertha BSC is in negotiations to sign Josip Brekalo from Real Oviedo.

The 27-year-old has previous experience of German football having played 157 games for VfB Stuttgart and VfL Wolfsburg.

However, according to the transfer market expert, Juventus is currently in pole position in the race for the Croatian.

Besides Hertha, other clubs from Italy are also showing interest in Brekalo, who joined Oviedo from Fiorentina on a free transfer this summer.

His contract with the newly promoted La Liga side runs until 2027 for whom he has failed to register a goal or assist in 14 La Liga games.
